Casper’s Corners- Your weekly update
by Jasper Meddock
The first two weeks in Traverse City, Michigan have been unreal. After seeing all the awesome spots to hike and paddle, I thought it truly couldn’t get much better. That was before I got to Petobego. It is easily the sickest spot I have seen to kite within thousands of miles of here. Matt and I had a session there last Friday that brought a smile to my face that still hasn’t gone away yet!
The Glen Arbor house is off the hook with Lake Michigan a couple blocks away and the Crystal River across the street. I had a session a few blocks from my house last week and found a secret spot out by the dunes that I can’t wait to kite on a good N or NW. The M-22 Challenge is gonna be sick this weekend and I’m hoping for some good wind this week. -Casper
Who is Casper?
-Jasper “Casper” Meddock is the 2009 Broneah Intern and will be keeping you up to date with the latest happenings in Northern Michigan through Casper’s Corner. After finishing up his final semester at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Jasper decided to come work at Broneah for the summer to complete his required summer internship. Jasper is a wonderful addition to the team. Here is a testimonial from one of Jasper’s students after his second week of coaching with us:
“My girlfriend and I have just gotten back from our first kiteboarding experience and are completely stoked! We just wanted to thank you and the whole Broneah/M-22 family for the experience. Our instructors were Kegan and Jasper and both were amazing. They have two different personalities that helped launch two kiting careers and lots of smiles. We would like to wish both of them our best wishes in their future adventures, Kegan with the armed forces that give us the opportunities and freedoms we enjoy and Jasper with finishing school and living his life to the fullest.
I don’t think that I could express in words how well these two worked together and complimented each other out on the beach. Kegan was technical and meticulous, Jasper was laid back and encouraging, we needed all of these traits to make this adventure a one of a kind experience! I’m sure that in the coming months you will be hearing from us, whether it is for advice, gear or just to say “What’s up”.
Again, thanks.” -Joel Lewis and Beth Sprague
