Meet our Crew- Keegan Myers
Name: Keegan Myers
Position: Co-Founder
Bio: Keegan Myers grew up on Neatawanta Point on the Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City, Michigan. The location is a peninsula on a peninsula surrounded by water in every single direction. Being in and near the water was a large part of Keegan’s childhood, something he has not been able to let go of. Keegan raced motocross at the amateur level all through Jr High and High School focusing any extra time toward training and racing. As high school was ending Keegan made the decision to get an education rather than attempt a professional career in Motocross. Keegan went to Michigan State University and studied marketing. During his time there he realized that he would never in his live want to live at a place that is not located directly on the water, living on campus and away from the water was the hardest thing he has ever done. To get some type of relief from the college life scene Keegan took part in a study abroad program in Rome, Italy where he continued his education and traveled the entire coast of Europe. During his travels he was able to see kiteboarding for the first time. One day watching kiteboarders just outside of Rome, Keegan was able to actually see someone successfully doing the sport and actually making it look legit, at that point he realized that he needed to kiteboard. A few days later a 12M kite showed up and Keegan spent the summer with his brother traveling Europe’s islands and coastline perfecting the sport.
Since that summer Keegan has spent all of this time working on ways to grow kiteboarding. Starting a full time kiteboarding school, offering camps in exotic locations, and providing kiteboarders with complete kiteboarding service. All with one goal in mind; make this sport into a legit boardsport. Keegan is confident that kiteboarding is the best sport on the planet and that everyone that has motivation and vision should be doing it. At this time Keegan plans to continue to work hard at getting more people into the sport and to work even harder at spending more time on the water in prime locations.
