Meet our Crew- Matt Myers
Name: Matt Myers
Position: Co-Founder
Bio: Matt was born and raised on Neahtawanta Point on Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City, Michigan. Spending most of his childhood between the mountains of Aspen Colorado, and the freshwater bays of Lake Michigan, Matt has enjoyed an appreciation for the outdoors from an early age. Each year, his parents packed Matt ,and his brother, Keegan, in the motor-home for an around the country trip, exposing the two boys to every continental state in the USA. Motocross dominated his teenage years, taking the sport to the professional level, then deciding the experience and life-knowledge gained through a university atmosphere was of more importance. During his stay at Michigan State University, Matt spent any and all spare time traveling the globe. He developed an independent study that took him on a journey through all of French Polynesia, including Tahiti and Bora Bora, both the north and south islands of New Zealand, the entire Gold Coast of Australia, Western Samoa, and most all of the Hawaiian Islands. His final trip was enjoyed with his brother along the entire European coastline, including long stays in Sardinia, Italy, and Tarifa, Spain.
Upon graduation from MSU in 2003, Matt and Keegan formed their first company, Broneah, Inc. The brothers always dreamed of working together, and now with the possibilities of kiteboarding, decided to give it a try. Matt quickly took to the design and development of the business, while Keegan focused on the books and keeping things afloat. Now, six years later, Matt is still working side by side with his brother and enjoying all aspects of business, life, and kiteboarding. “I just love watching people get excited about kiteboarding, and seeing the positive difference it makes in so many lives. It is truly the most amazing sport known to man.” For the next few years, Matt hopes to continue meeting more amazing people, visiting more amazing destinations, and enjoying as much time as possible on the water with his friends.
