Meet our Crew- Mike Conrad
Name: Mike Conrad
Position: Coach
Bio: I’m from just north of Traverse City in Elk Rapids, MI. My family has run White Birch Lodge, a watersports-oriented resort on Elk Lake, for 50 years, so I grew up waterskiing, wakeboarding, and sailing. I also grew up ski racing winters, which has led to me living and working winters at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming as an instructor/guide. I have a bachelor’s degree in business from Michigan State University, and plan to continue working at the resort, teaching kiting and skiing. I got into kiting early with Broneah, and right away it was my favorite summer sport. I love kiting because it combines so many elements–wind, weather, water–and the fact that you can ride all day without gas or a boat. I never feel more relaxed than I do hanging out on the beach after riding!
